The Book of 1 Timothy Pt. 2
In this pastoral epistle, the Apostle Paul presents a plan for shaping the local church. He points out problem areas and proposes corrective measures. Leaders are encouraged to set examples in faith, speech, and lifestyle. In Part 2 of this three-part series, Dr. Price gives instructions for practical ministry.
It is not money, but the love of it that is the root of all kinds of evil. Seeking after riches and not the kingdom draws people into destruction and perdition.
Material blessings are the hallmark of the Christian life, but everything must be in its proper order. Leaders are to concentrate on godliness and be content with that, for godliness brings with it true contentment.
Some have entered the ministry with sincere intentions, but have been led astray by such snares as money, greed, sex, power, and other seductions. Leaders must literally run away from such temptations.
In the face of adversity, Christians are encouraged to “fight the good fight of faith.” Dr. Price identifies the enemies that attempt to separate the Believer from his faith.
