On the last night of His life on earth, Jesus shared an intimate supper with His disciples.  Jesus taught the disciples about servanthood (John 13:1-17).  At the beginning of the evening meal, Jesus put aside His outer clothing and stooped to wash his disciples' feet.  This was a shocking reversal of roles-doubly shocking when the master was the very one at whose feet the disciples worship.  Only by this dramatic act was Christ able to convey that He expects His followers to serve one another.  In Part 9B of this twelve-part series, Dr. Price explains the spiritual significance of Jesus washing His disciples' feet.

Jesus was not seeking to institute a literal practice of washing feet to be observed by the church.

Dr. Price explains the supper talked about in the Book of John is the Passover supper which differed from the Lord's Supper.
