As the Apostle Paul begins this problem-focused letter, he is not discouraged.  Paul first deals with the nagging problem of cliques and divisions that exist in Corinth.  Like some today who identify themselves first by denomination or a favorite preacher, some in Corinth began to see themselves as followers of Paul, Peter and others rather than as Christians.  To resolve the problem, Paul takes the Believer back to basics.

In Part 1 of this sixteen-part series, Dr. Price examines the difference between natural and divine wisdom from God's point of view.

Division in the church destroys unity, so Believers were no longer perfectly joined together in the same mind...(v.1:10).

In Christ, Believers have righteousness, holiness and redemption (v.1:30).  Clearly, then, Believers should seek God's wisdom in approaching any problem and not the wisdom of man.

The "natural man" is devoid of the Holy Spirit, with no appreciation for the things of God.  The "carnal man" is a Believer who operates in childish ways.

Believers should always see themselves as God's fellow workers, His field and His building (v.3:9).  believers have nothing to boast about, since God is the source of all spiritual birth and growth.
