Social order dictates that those who render a service, such as soldiers, farmers, and shepherds, should receive financial remuneration.  Even the Law of Moses says there should be a just recompense for those rendering such service.  The principle is also applied to working animals:  "You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain" (v. 9:9).  "...the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel" (v. 9:14).

In Part 4 of this sixteen-part series, Dr. Price demonstrates why the church should financially support the full-time minister.

In order to minister and spread the gospel efficiently, one must be devoted to full-time ministry.

Dr. Price defines a full-time minister as one whose ministry takes care of all his or her needs.

Ministers should not think of themselves as special but must recognize that they are called by God and have a responsibility to Him.

Dr. Price stresses the necessity of both ministers and laity practicing self-denial and self-discipline.  The Apostle Paul himself said, "but I discipline my body and bring it into subjection..." (v. 9:27).
