Race, Religion and Racism - Religion Part 3C
Dr. Price introduces a five-part video presentation entitled, “Farrakhan’s statement, “Jesus and Elijah, one and the same, “is not Biblically supportable.
Dr. Price offers Scriptures that disprove Farrakhan’s allegations that, “The historical Jesus was not the Messiah,” and “The historical Jesus prefigures the prophetic Jesus.”
Dr. Price challenges such Farrakhan statements as, “Seventy-five percent of what you read in the Bible referring to Jesus is referring to a future man, and twenty-five percent of what you read is referring to the man of 2,000 years ago….”
Dr. Price quotes from “The Meaning of the Glorious Koran” and its translations by Abdullah Yusef Ali in 1934 and by N.J. Dawood in 1959. He responds to the statement, “The Messiah Jesus, the son of Mary, was no more than God’s apostle…God forbid that He should have a son.”
Dr. Price cites such Biblical references as John 3:16-18 to support the Christian belief that Jesus, the present Jesus, and the future Jesus are one and the same.
More Biblical support is given to qualify the “historical” Jesus as Messiah. Dr. Price explains that the Hebrew meaning of Messiah and the Greek meaning of Christ are the same.
Dr. Price explains why it is important to “test the spirits” (John 4:1-3). He concludes this segment by stating that “there has always been on Jesus Christ, the Anointed of God, and Messiah.”
