James 1:2-3, tells us to “Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” This is the proper attitude for addressing adversity, which is not an emotional reaction but a deliberate assessment of each situation. Decisions should be made based on careful thinking, not on the emotions of the moment. To be tempted, tried or tested is not a sin, but yielding to any can produce sin in the Believer’s life.

In Part 3 of this five-part medley of lifestyle teachings, Dr. Betty Price illustrates how the Believer can overcome temptation, trial and tests during these perilous times. This 5 CD set includes:

Women of an Excellent Spirit: In order to be that women of an excellent spirit you need to be strong in your spirit, soul and body; and that’s by being strong in faith. Ephesians 6:10 is the foundational scripture for this teaching.

Overcoming Temptations, Trials and Tests: Many Christians fail to realize that Christ has made us free from the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:11). Believers must recognize that Christ lives in them and as a result, their liberty releases them from yielding to sin. Scripture references for overcoming, victorious living are included in this series.

What’s On Your Mind?: So, what are you thinking about? What we think is what we become. What we keep on our is where we are. Our thoughts shape our behavior. What we do is what we think and we really are what we think.

Experiencing Peace in a Non-Peaceful Environment: Peace is a fruit of the recreated born-again spirit. It is one of the fruit of the spirit, but it has to be developed. Fruit has to grow. Peace means to bind together, to join, to weave together; it means that a person is sound, woven together and joined with himself, with God and others.

Making Wise Choices: Sin may seem attractive, but to choose it means to go on living in the empty realm where death reigns. Deuteronomy 30:19 tells the Believer, “…I have set before your life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” Dr. Betty gives examples of wise choices.
