Wisdom from Above Part 5
The life of the Believer should be one of constant growth, marked by goodness, righteousness and truth. These qualities should take root in their lives and eventually transform their experience on earth. Maturity in God’s Word comes gradually and is gained through experience as Believers learn to walk in the Spirit and not “fulfill the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16). The scriptures tell us to be filled with the Spirit and live as “children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).
In Part 5 of this five-part medley of lifestyle teachings, Dr. Betty Price speaks of a life that is for greater than mere existence. This 5 CD set includes:
The Prosperous Soul: Salvation comes not from the use of worldly methods, but by receiving “with meekness the implanted word [of God], which is able to save your souls” (James 1:21). The soul is governed by the life of the first Adam, which is fallen and corrupt. Thus, it is open in every area to the power of the devil. However, to have a prosperous soul, Believers must apply and be obedient to God’s Word.
A lifestyle of Faith: Our Heavenly Father desires His children to live by faith because it is written, “The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17). Faith is a law (Roman 3:27) and must be applied to the Believer’s life for healing, finances, marriage and in other areas to bring about the desired results.
Living a Lifestyle of Victory: God’s Word is available to every Believer, yet so many do not experience victory in their lives. One of the keys that unlock the door to victory is to walk in the Spirit. There is judgment and condemnation to those who walk according to the flesh, but when Believers live in harmony with the promptings of their recreated spirit, they can overcome the works of the flesh.
Believing God: God’s children must not only believe that their Heavenly Father can do what He says He can do, but must be convinced also that He will do what He says He will do. Mark 9:23 says, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
The Blessing of Faithful Living: Christians must develop a firm foundation in the Word of God and hold fast to His promises. One of the keys to living in the blessings of God is to know that “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11). One of the most important things that Christians must know is who they are in Christ Jesus. They must take steps to remove themselves from situations of bondage in order to fulfill their God-given purpose.
