HOLD FAST TO YOUR CONFESSION OF FAITH; OR, HIGH HOPES
BY APOSTLE FREDERICK K.C. PRICE
When we fight the good fight of faith, it often becomes tiresome. The enemy, Satan, tries to discourage us from following the path to building up our Christian lives. But we must not give up (Hebrews 10:23) but maintain our hope. Without hope, we’ll never exceed where we are. Hope sets the goal based on the promises of God, so we need to hold fast to the confession of that hope. If we don’t set goals for ourselves, we won’t achieve anything. We have the promise of God that we win if we stay consistent (John 15:18, 2 Corinthians. 4:8).
The things we perceive with our senses are temporal, so we must look beyond them (2 Timothy 3:10, 4:18; 2 Corinthians 4:15-18, 5:7). We must not allow our senses to set the focus for our lives. Goals not set will never be met. Withstanding the temptations, trials and tests in pursuit of the goal is the way we prove our faith to ourselves (James 1:1-3) and come out on the other side victoriously. Therefore, we must guard against becoming lazy and sluggish so that we will succeed where we previously fell short (Hebrews 6:10).
